A world premiere play
based on stories collected by The arcHIVe project
Debuted at The Spreckles Theatre
as part of the San Diego International Fringe Festival
Written by The arcHIVe project founder Rodney Rodriguez
Matthew is in the midst of his youth when he learns that he is HIV-positive. After coming to terms with his diagnosis himself, he has decided to disclose his status to his family including his anxious sister, his impervious grandfather, and his neurotic mother. To overcome their own stigma and learn what it means to live with HIV in this generation, they will have to solve their differences and function as a family.
Addressing many of the stigmas surrounding HIV, this play is based on some of the stories collected by The arcHIVe project. This opportunity has been made possible by our friends at The Human Dignity Foundation.
This production premiered in
a Black Box setting on stage at
the historic Spreckles Theatre in
downtown San Diego.
Performance rights are available. Please contact The arcHIVe project with questions or requests.
